Click the SMS bubble to initiate an outgoing text message.
Input the phone number of the tenant including the area code.
Select the tenant account. If there are multiple leads for this tenant, select the option to open the account in StorEdge to ensure the message will be associated with the correct account. Select Start Conversation.
From here you will be able to see any existing message threads associated with this number, as well as send a new message!
Incoming SMS Messages
Incoming messages can be seen and responded to by selecting the Task tab and choosing Messages.
SMS Task Follow Up
If a message thread has been initiated with a customer, their response will appear as a task to be followed up with in the Messages tab of the Tasks section in VMOS.
It will be opened and completed similar to a phone call related task. Select Start Task.
Select View Comms. in the top right-hand corner to open the message thread.
You can then reply to the message. By selecting the phone icon, you can also initiate an outgoing call.
The task can now be resolved as needed. If it will require more work before it can be closed, select Needs Follow Up. This will keep the task open until it can be resolved.
